Impossible Foods' plant-based 'pork' is coming to restaurants this fall
This fall, you can expect to find Impossible Pork on restaurant menus. The plant-based meat company Impossible Foods’ newest product is gearing for its wide release. If you’re in New York, you can try it today at Chef David Chang's Momofuku Ssäm Bar in Manhattan by ordering spicy rice cakes made with Impossible Pork ragu. Starting on October 4th, more than 100 restaurants in Hong Kong will start offering dishes made with Impossible Pork and the plant-based pork will also arrive on some menus in Singapore in the coming weeks.
Zoom In: Impossible Foods claims that its faux pork is more sustainable than ground pork from pigs. The company says the product uses 85% less water and 82% less land than is needed for pork production typically, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 77%. Impossible Pork has fewer calories, less fat and more iron than its real counterpart. It is also gluten-free and has no animal hormones or antibiotics.
