A new study conducted by PwC found that the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated AI adoption in businesses. More than half of the companies surveyed stated that they sped up their AI adoption due to COVID-19. 86% acknowledged that AI is becoming mainstream tech thanks to increased data accessibility and said that new strategies are needed to solve the workforce skill gap. 72% of business leaders said they are optimistic about the future role of AI in their companies after the pandemic, with over half believing that AI will create new business models, products, and services.
