HTC revealed its vision for its version of the metaverse called Viverse. The Vive Twitter account posted a concept video for the Viverse ecosystem split across both virtual (VR) and augmented (AR) reality hardware, aiming to deliver a “future where the impossible becomes possible.”

Zoom In: The company also hopes to make a comeback in the smartphone business by launching a metaverse-focused smartphone in April, announced officially at the Mobile World Congress (MVC) 2022. The Viverse range of phones will work alongside HTC’s in-house VR headsets, the VIVE Focus 3 and VIVE Pro 2. The high-end premium-priced phone will launch with VR and AR capabilities.

Viverse 101: The Viverse concept video, titled “Viverse — A Day in the metaverse with VR, AR, AI, 5G & NFTs,” proposes various possibilities from fitness in VR to virtual wine tasting events and art galleries where users can buy the NFT of “Meowna Lisa.”
