Robert Downey Jr. has announced that he is launching a new venture fund to back sustainability startups. The venture fund called FootPrint Coalition Ventures will be managed through AngelList and will be a 'rolling' fund, meaning new capital will be raised on a quarterly basis from potential retail investors and be invested as they go. This uniquely places the fund at the intersection of the democratization of access to capital and investment vehicles and the $10 trillion opportunity to decarbonize global industry.
Zoom In: RDJ had first announced the venture in Amazon’s re:MARS conference in June of 2019. FootPrint Coalition Ventures will be split between early and late-stage investment funds and will be looking to make six investments per year in early-stage companies and four later-stage deals.
