Facebook has launched its long-awaited smart glasses, developed in partnership with Italian luxury eyewear manufacturer Luxottica. The glasses, released under the Ray-Ban brand as Ray-Ban Stories, allow users to capture photos and videos, listen to music, and take phone calls. The prices start at $299, and the glasses come in 20 different style combinations. Ray-Ban Stories is the first product of a multi-year agreement between Facebook and Luxottica signed in September 2020.

Ray-Ban Stories allows hands-free use through voice-commands via Facebook Assistant. The glasses will work with the newly developed Facebook View app, allowing wearers to import, edit, and share captured content to various social media platforms. Captured content can also be saved directly to the user’s phone camera roll.
